Who we are

door.fit is an AI-powered door measurement and matching service. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect

  • Door photos: Photographs of your doorway uploaded for measurement. All EXIF metadata is stripped on upload.
  • Measurements: Width, height, and wall thickness data extracted by our AI.
  • Contact details: Name, email, phone (optional), and postcode — only when you request a quote.
  • Usage data: Session-based analytics (pages viewed, products browsed) — only with your consent.
  • Consent records: Timestamps and hashed IP addresses of when you gave or withdrew consent.

Why we collect it

  • To measure your doorway and find matching doors (our core service)
  • To generate and send personalised quotes
  • To improve our service through anonymised analytics (with consent)
  • To send product updates (only with explicit marketing consent)

How long we keep it

  • Photos and measurements: 30 days, or until you delete them
  • Lead/contact data: Until you request deletion, or 2 years of inactivity
  • Marketing emails: Until you unsubscribe
  • Analytics data: 12 months
  • Consent records: 1 year (required for audit)

Who we share it with

  • OpenRouter / AI providers: Your door photo is sent to an AI vision model for measurement analysis. No personal contact data is shared.
  • Brevo: Email delivery service, for sending quotes and updates.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your data — export your data
  • Delete your data — request deletion
  • Rectify inaccurate data — contact us
  • Object to processing — withdraw consent at any time
  • Portability — export your data in JSON format

Cookies

We use only essential cookies (session ID) by default. Analytics cookies are only set with your explicit consent via the cookie banner.
